Zhaojiuwanwu (朝酒晚舞)Bar of Houhai Bar Street
The name of Zhaojiuwanwu is interesting. 朝酒晚舞means drinking in the morning and dancing at night, and the pronounce of it sounds the same with 朝九晚五, which means working from A.M.9:00 to P.M.5:00.
It is a bar with a dance floor, so the music in there usually is blaring. Two or three caged birds – mynahs, are hanging outside the bar. Fortunately mynahs they are, for this kind of bird likes jollification, otherwise they’d die of loud noises. Laughable, isn’t it?
